Duffy is a super sweet but very shy little boy who came to us severely matted and dirty. It took several days to fully groom him because the mats were so tight and painful, and it was obvious he had never been groomed before. The whole experience was very scary for him, but he handled it as best he could. Right now, Duffy is still learning that people can be kind and gentle with him, so he will need time to decompress and adjust to life in a loving home. Dogs as timid as Duffy may never become social butterflies, but in our experience they often grow into the most loyal, loving, and devoted family pets once they feel safe. Duffy is looking for a patient home that will give him the time, understanding, and reassurance he needs to blossom at his own pace. Watching a dog like Duffy learn to trust is incredibly rewarding, and we know the right family will see just how special he truly is.
