Moose is a 7-year-old, 28 lb. mixed breed boy with a big heart and a loyal personality. He is dearly loved by his family, who adopted him 7 years ago, but with young children in the home they can no longer give him the calm environment and attention he needs. Moose is affectionate, playful, smart, and deeply bonded to his adult humans. He loves snuggling, following his people around the house, fetch, tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, and relaxing nearby on work-from-home days. He even gives “hugs” by gently placing his paws on your shoulders and giving kisses. Moose is fully house trained, trusted loose in the house when home alone, and generally very well-mannered indoors. He knows many commands, including sit, down, stay, settle, touch, leave it, take it, rollover, high-five, hug, and get your ball. Moose has lived successfully with another dog and loved his Pomeranian sister for 5 years. He has also done well with doggie daycare and boarding, once given time to adjust. Moose’s best fit is an adult-only home or a home without young children. He has shown stress signals around young kids and would do best in a calmer household. He is also leash reactive and may bark or pull when seeing strangers or unfamiliar dogs, so he needs an experienced adopter willing to manage walks thoughtfully. Moose is treat motivated, loyal, affectionate, and very trainable. With the right home, he has a lot of love and companionship to give.
