About Moose

Moose is a 7-year-old Wheaten Terrier/Poodle mix with a gentle, loyal presence. After seven years with his family, Moose is searching for a calmer, adult-only environment where he can thrive—young children have been stressful for him, and he'd be happiest in a peaceful household. He weighs around 28 lbs and carries himself with a smart, affectionate spirit. Moose is affectionate with his adult humans. He loves to snuggle, follows people room to room, enjoys fetch, tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, and is content just relaxing beside you, especially during work-from-home days. His version of “hugs” involves gently putting his paws on your shoulders and offering some kisses. Moose is fully house trained and can be trusted loose at home, even alone. He’s well-mannered indoors and knows a long list of commands: sit, down, stay, settle, touch, leave it, take it, rollover, high-five, hug, and get your ball. Though bonding deeply to his people, Moose has also successfully lived with another dog and liked his Pomeranian sister for years, as well as adjusted well to boarding and doggie daycare with patience. Still, walks require management: he’s leash reactive and may bark or pull when encountering strangers or unfamiliar dogs, so an experienced adopter is essential. Moose is very trainable and motivated by treats. With the right adult home, he’s loving, steady, and ready for companionship. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Moose

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Moose, as a Wheaten Terrier/Poodle mix, is best suited for a calm household where he can bond closely with his family. Homes where adults are present and the environment is consistent tend to be ideal.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

A medium-sized dog like Moose benefits from regular walks and playtime, but does not require a large yard. Apartment living can work if he gets enough exercise and stimulation outdoors.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Moose, like many Wheaten Terrier/Poodle mixes, prefers adult-only homes as he shows stress around young children. He thrives best in quieter, child-free spaces.
