About Charlie
Charlie is a sweet, smart dog who’s already had more changes than most—he was abandoned last November and was lucky enough to get a new lease on life thanks to a caring neighbor. Initially cautious, Charlie warms up to people after just a few minutes and is genuinely charming once he’s comfortable. He’s young, energetic, and happiest when he can carry his squeaky toys around the house. They don’t stand a chance of being destroyed—he just likes the company. Car rides, walks, and runs are his favorite ways to spend time, making him an excellent fit for an active person or family. Charlie is house trained and knows how to use a doggy door. He enjoys a bit of backyard excitement, especially if there are lizards or birds to chase. He should be the only pet—he’s not compatible with cats or most other dogs but seems fine with older kids. He knows "sit" and "wait," walks reasonably well on leash, and is generally non-destructive if left alone for a while. He’s protective of his people and property, with a good sense as a watchdog, so slow introductions with new friends are important. Charlie thrives with structure and affection and needs a home willing to help him settle into a new routine. Ready to meet Charlie? Click apply to start the adoption process.
