About Juniper

Juniper’s story took a sharp turn when she and her companion Zelda were abandoned on a busy highway in Rocky Mount, NC. A rescue volunteer was there to witness and document this traumatic event, catching the exact moment they were left behind. Both dogs chased after the truck in visible confusion and fear, but a kind hand guided them to safety and eventually to foster care. Shelter overcrowding put Juniper at risk again, but she found safety and is now looking for a stable, loving home. She’s a sweet, gentle, medium-sized dog—about two years old—who melts quickly once she feels secure. Juniper gets along well with other dogs and, although more reserved than Zelda at first, warms up into a playful, easygoing companion. Her trusting nature and calm demeanor make her standout, especially in a quieter home where patience and kindness come naturally. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
