Casey Is In Portland currently lives with a foster in the Portland area and is hoping to find his forever home somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. He has a clear preference for having a mom around, though a patient dad in the home is perfectly fine too—he just needs a gentle approach from any new man in his life. At just 18 lbs and about 2 years old, Casey is a true mutt with an eye-catching auburn coat that sets him apart from the crowd. Originally found running around an apartment complex with a couple of bigger dogs, Casey escaped being left behind thanks to a Good Samaritan. Since then he’s been thriving with the rescue, settling in and showing his playful and social side. Casey gets along well with other dogs and will happily join energetic play sessions. He loves people but does best with older kids who respect his boundaries. Whether it’s snuggling on a lap or tagging along for a walk or hike, he strikes a balance between cuddly and adventurous. One-hour plus daily walks are his jam, and he’s game for a ride in the car or a tromp in the rain. On the home front, Casey is crate trained and uses his crate as a comfy spot to recharge. He enjoys yard time and doesn't mind wet weather—a definite bonus for the PNW. With the right family, he'll make an ideal companion who thrives on both activity and affection.
