Meet Zack, a 2.5-year-old Great Pyrenees, weighing 91 pounds (as of 5/19/26). This majestic boy was a stray working with goats and sheep in Tennessee, but we wrote his own bio so he can find his perfect family: "Hi, I’m Zack! Not Efron, but just as charming! I'm a big, young, fluffy boy with an even bigger heart. I’m affectionate, friendly, and always happy to spend time with my people. Whether it’s relaxing beside you on the couch, getting belly rubs, or gently following you around the yard, I’m happiest when I’m near the ones I love. Lucky you! I'm still young and have a playful side too, so I hope you're excited to have fun adventures and cozy cuddles together! I do have cataracts in both of my eyes, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying life! In fact, my keen sense of smell compensates just fine. It's kind of like my super power! I’m calm, easygoing, and confident, especially in familiar surroundings. I take things at my own pace and appreciate kindness, patience, and a soft voice. I get along wonderfully with everyone I meet: dogs, cats, chickens, and even goats! I guess it helps that I'm multilingual! I love children (though sometimes I may get a little excited and jump). I've only used crates for vet visits and I still need to learn to walk on a leash. I really hope you'll have patience with me. My sweet foster says I may have never been inside, so I'll need your help with house-training (and additional training) when I get to your home. I'll try my best! If you’re looking for a sweet, steady best friend with a loving soul, I might just be your perfect match. Actually, scratch that. I AM your perfect match!" All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Zack, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $395] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
