About Josie

This sweet looking girl is Josie. When we say sweet that is truly an understatement for her personality. Josie knows no stranger and has done well with all the people she has been surrounded by since entering foster care. Adults, teenagers and young kids she will come right to them. She truly just wants to be with people who will give her rubs, talk kindly to her and let her be their lap companion. Josie does scare easily. Shes been known to go the opposite direction if approached too quickly in a manner she feels threatened by. She also loves to dart out the door behind you if you aren't careful. With some ongoing training, consistency, and her learning to trust her new family we believe this will get better; until then it will be important to always take her out on a leash she can't break free from. This girl loves to be outside to lay in the sun, roll in the grass or play with her foster siblings. She has been with a larger and a small dog and does well with both. She shares well, she can be sneaky if one of them has something she wants and will very casually walk by and grab it, but never in a mean way. And ever so gentle in accepting treats. We have been working on sit, no, off, and being okay in a kennel. She is getting there and continues to improve with each day. Obedience classes would be very helpful for her continued growth and confidence. Josie is estimated to be 2 years old and weighs about 30 pounds. If you're interested in learning more, please fill out an adoption application on our website, foreverhomedogs.org.All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.
