About Chewie

Chewie is settling into foster care near Cedar Rapids, Iowa after his previous owner was unable to keep up with his needs. Now safe and cared for, Chewie is looking for a home that will appreciate his Beagle/Basset mix personality and energy. He has a classic hound nose, always ready to follow an interesting scent, and he doesn't mind letting out a good howl now and then. Chewie is social with other dogs and has a real fondness for chew toys. He adapts well to routines—he’s fully potty trained, crate trained, and easy to walk on a leash. With his easygoing attitude and alert curiosity, Chewie fits best in a home that understands hound quirks and will give him space to be himself. He is currently being treated for heartworm and soon will be heartworm free; any questions about his health are welcome.
