Fabrizio A184550 24 lb. neutered male, approx 6 months old -This tender little guy is still trying to figure out that the world can be safe. Everything about shelter life feels overwhelming right now, and while he wants comfort so badly, fear is still winning most moments. -He needed lots of encouragement (and plenty of tasty treats) just to leave his kennel. He made it all the way to the back door before freezing at the threshold, unsure about taking that next step. Once outside, he trembled in my lap while I held him close like a baby -- and despite how scared he was, he still gave gentle little kisses. That sweetness shines through even in his hardest moments. -One of the most heart-melting moments was when he spotted another dog walking by. For a second, his curiosity and puppy spirit peeked out, and he perked right up before crawling back into my lap for reassurance once they were gone. He seems to find comfort in calm companionship and would likely benefit from a confident, friendly dog sibling. -He did wonderfully for his bath, loves treats, and is already learning that people can mean kindness. Right now he's not interested in toys or playtime -- he's focused on simply feeling safe. Beneath the trembling and uncertainty is an incredibly loving young pup who desperately wants someone to be patient with him. -He's looking for a foster or adopter willing to move slowly, celebrate small victories, and let him blossom at his own pace. Watching him learn to trust is going to be something truly special. Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
