About Peter Pan

NAME: Peter Pan, Peter, Petey, Mr. Petey P AGE: 1-2 years WEIGHT: 29 lbs LOCATION: In foster in NYC I’ve only been fostering Mr. Pete here for 36 hours and I can already tell he is a very, very special dog. He’s about 29 lbs and 1-2 years old (much smaller in person than he appears in photos) with the sweetest wire scruff and a black stripe on his tail to match his black ears. His soulful eyes tell you a lot more about his character than I could, but I’ll take a stab: this boy has a TREMENDOUS amount of gentle love and affection to give. He takes treats calmly, sleeps through the night, and has already figured out pee pee pads - next stop, potty training! He is accidentally hilarious, peeking around the corner to find me in the bathroom, mistaking my treadmill for a dog bed, getting yogurt on his whiskers when licking an empty container, or investigating his own reflection in the phone camera. He is definitely a bit shy and skittish at first, so we are going to work on building confidence while he’s here. But unfortunately for me, I don’t think I’ll be fostering him long. How could he not get adopted soon??? Peter is funny, wiggly, cuddly, kissy, huggy, playful, and very smart. He’s quiet and easygoing, even sort of cat-like in the house. He gets excited when you come home and showers you with affection, wanting to wrap his arms and paws around you. He could be in the deepest sleep, but if you even mention his name from across the room, his tail starts thumping right away. His favorite place when he isn’t napping is with his head buried in your lap or planting a kiss on your cheek. Or chewing on a stuffie! While not a fan of cats, Peter Pan is very friendly with other pups with slow, proper introductions. Approved adopters in the Northeast can request a meet and greet with Peter. who is currently in foster in NYC.
