AvailableAbout Mocha & Lacey
Mocha and her sister Lacey returned to LCCR after 7-1/2 years of living with their owner, who unfortunately got too sick to care for them. They were shellshocked by this new development in their lives, but after a transitional stage at their foster home, they are ready to put down new roots! Mocha's foster parents can't say enough wonderful things about them. First of all, they are big girls, which makes their antics and chatter even cuter. These two are anxious to have free range in their foster home, but unfortunately the resident cats just will not have it! So they hang in a bedroom and lounge in the sun and entertain their foster dad, who works from that room. They do have different, complementary personalities, and surely after some time in a new home, those personalities will bloom even more. Mocha is bright eyed and very social. She greets people coming into her room eagerly and with lots of head butts and leg rubs. She is talkative and engaging, liking to lounge around as much as she likes to play (fast!) with feather wands. Her sister Lacey took a bit longer to warm up to her new surroundings, but she also likes to lounge around and be petted. She has a cute little trill that she lets out when she knows you are coming in for a pet. They haven't exhibited lap pet tendencies yet, but Mocha at least likes to be what we call "lap adjacent." While not quite bonded, these two sisters have only known each other for 7-1/2 years of their lives, and in a new setting might feel completely out of sorts if the other wasn't with her. So we think it would be best for the two of them to be adopted together. Mocha and Lacey would definitely prefer a quiet home (no little kids). They do get along with other foster cats, but there is hissing and occasional growling that comes along with that. So they'd probably be best as the only kitties in the house. They have also met the resident dog and (while initially shocked) don't really seem to mind her unless her nose gets too, um, nosey. They would be great for older people or in an apartment. Their joint adoption donation is Mocha's adoption donation is $115, which includes age appropriate vaccines, Felv and FIV testing (negative for both), spay, flea treatment and dewormer, and microchip.
