About George

Short Legs. Big Presence. Our little Georgie is one of those puppies that does not even feel real. Born January 23rd, George only weighs 5 lbs and this little Dachshund mix somehow ended up with the stockiest build in the entire litter, short sturdy legs, a scruffy coat, and bright blue eyes that will pierce directly through you like he just overheard your business from another room. This boy is PURE personality. Not chaotic personality either. Georgie isn’t bouncing off the walls turning your living room into a demolition site. He’s beautifully balanced. Outside, he absolutely comes alive for playtime. He loves exploring, wrestling with the other dogs, zooming around the yard with his little stocky body moving way faster than seems physically possible, and participating in whatever important puppy business is happening that day. But inside? He settles in incredibly well. Calm, affectionate, cuddly, and deeply connected to his people. Honestly, he is a dream. This entire litter is special, but Georgie has that thing where people meet him and immediately start smiling without meaning to. He’s playful, social, confident, affectionate, and wonderfully well-rounded. He’s done beautifully with dogs of all ages and sizes, has already been exposed to children, and approaches the world with this happy little “I think everybody here might actually love me” attitude that is impossible not to fall for. And the affection this puppy gives? Unreal. Pick him up and Georgie completely melts into your arms like a little baby. Fully relaxed. No tension whatsoever. One second he’s outside playing with dogs twice his size like he’s training for the Puppy Olympics, and the next he’s curled against your chest staring into your soul with those ridiculous blue eyes like you’re the greatest thing he’s ever seen. Their sweet mama is only around 15 lbs, so we do not expect these babies to get very big, but Georgie somehow already has the emotional presence of a dog that feels woven into your life almost immediately. He feels like warm blankets, puppy breath, little feet following you through the house, porch sunsets, and hearing yourself say “where’s Georgie?” at least twelve times a day because everybody in the house is obsessed with him. And honestly? We completely understand why. We have transports departing each week! +++++++ The Truth About Rescue: Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again. Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued. +++++++ What Is a Benefactor Dog or Puppy, and Why Is the Adoption Fee Higher? Benefactor dogs and puppies are typically purebreds or high-demand rescues who tend to find homes quickly—even with a higher adoption fee. These dogs play a special role in our mission. Their increased fees help cover the costs for dogs who need much more time, care, and resources before they’re ready for adoption. Some dogs spend months—even over a year—in our care, requiring expensive surgeries, heartworm treatment, behavioral training, or ongoing medical support. By adopting a Benefactor dog, you're not only giving them a loving home—you’re also helping to fund the second chance of another dog still waiting for theirs. It’s a meaningful way to make a difference beyond just one life. +++++++ Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com. Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
