Midge is a French Bulldog living in Folsom, CA. She is a young, small, spayed female who is house trained and up to date on her vaccinations. Midge has lifelong medical needs, including Addison's Disease and inflammatory bowel issues, which require her to be on a special prescription diet and regular veterinary care. Despite these challenges, she is a resilient and loving companion.

About Midge

Midge is a three-year-old spayed female French Bulldog who was rescued in rough shape from a Bay Area shelter. When she first arrived, she was severely underweight, dealing with chronic diarrhea and a prolapsed rectum. After multiple vet visits—including abdominal ultrasound and many tests—she was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease, and more recently with Addison's Disease (hypoadrenocorticism). Midge has responded well to prescription food (Royal Canin Ultamino) and steroid medication, but these will need to continue for life. She cannot have treats or any non-prescription food, and will require regular vet exams and bloodwork every six months. Sweet but initially timid, Midge gets along with most other dogs, though she must be fed separately since she’s protective of her meals. She’s just starting to enjoy playful moments and loves to lounge outside in the sun. Midge’s journey has made her a bit shy at first, but she warms up quickly and is affectionate once she feels safe. Her medical needs are significant, so any adopter needs to be comfortable with ongoing special care and a strict diet. Click apply to start the adoption process.
