About Sherman

A Sunny Disposition Despite being a senior, Sherman could often be mistaken for a puppy. At 9 years young, he retains a "perky" personality, characterized by brief bursts of play, followed by long, snoring naps on the sofa. He is the definition of a "class clown," bringing laughter to his home with his comical, dramatic nature and his signature "bat ears" that perk up at the sound of a snack wrapper. 🐶 A Friendly Heart Sherman is profoundly dog-friendly and never hides away when guests or new canine friends arrive. He thrives on companionship and easily bonds with other pets and people, making him the perfect companion for a social household. He is intrigued by the resident kitty but respects his space. While he loves his walks, he is a "compact" companion who prefers a gentle pace, making him ideal for a relaxed lifestyle. 🌿 Managing Sensitivities Sherman has the typical minor skin allergies common to his breed, which can cause occasional itching, especially during seasonal changes. To keep him comfortable, his fosters keep his skin folds clean and dry and use a gentle, moisturizing shampoo. He is currently managed with allergy meds and a salmon based diet, allowing him to stay happy and itch-free. ❤️ The Golden Years At 9, Sherman is a loyal, loving, and comical companion who follows his family from room to room, but also does fine independently and is quiet in his kennel and goes in willingly when needed. He minds his manners and only potties outdoors. He has mastered the art of senior Frenchie living: loving with his whole heart, eating well, and reminding everyone that age is just a number.
