Thurston is on the prowl for a kind, patient, and understanding hooman. He has been dealt an unfair hand in life, but his luck has turned around and he has no plans of going back! On a cold winters night in early March, Thurston found himself in a live trap after starting to show up at his current foster's house looking for food. Once inside, the first thing noticed was that he was FILTHY. It was established that he was friendly, so into the shower he went. That's when it was also learned that he was completely covered with fleas, and further examination revealed a horribly painful mouth of broken and dead teeth and infection. Once he finally got to see a vet he tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency virus and also had a painful case of Pillow Foot. How much can one cat take?? This poor sweet boy. And if I may take this opportunity to say that this is exactly why cats should not be outside! He was not born with any of this! So Thurston is FIV positive, that is for life. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, normal lives but will have a harder time healing from injuries and illnesses. He could also be in a home with FIV negative cats as it is only passed through deep bite wounds and cats who are fixed and well fed will have no reason to get into such a vicious fight. However, Thurston would do best as an only cat or in a home with one other cat who is friendly. In his foster home, he found a buddy who was soon adopted and unfortunately he didn't get along well with the other foster cats. Thurston is a sweet, affectionate, easy to handle cat, but he can have moods and sometimes wants to be left alone. He should have a room he can be in when he is getting in the way, also, because when food is being prepared he does not have manners....yet. Hopefully he can learn, but he loves food and he wants it all. He also learned how to open our food bucket and will just climb inside and have a buffet, so you'll need a food container that is cat proof. He's a funny guy, and so stinking cute! He loves to lay by us on the couch and be near us. He loves windows a lot, and crinkly tunnels and catnip. He gets the zoomies and likes to play, but he kind of has the aura of an older cat. Probably because of all the suffering his body has endured. Who is ready to be his lucky charm and give this boy the love and spoils he so deserves? Thurston is in foster care.
