She is incredibly kind, loyal, patient, and affectionate, and she truly enjoys being around her people. Whether she’s playing, cuddling, or simply relaxing nearby, Whiskey is happiest when she’s part of the family. She has completed formal training and is very responsive and eager to please. Whiskey already knows her manners well, and with a little continued consistency and reinforcement, she will thrive in her new home. She is fully potty trained, rarely barks, and settles down nicely after getting excited to greet her loved ones. One of Whiskey’s most special qualities is her gentle nature with children. She has lived with a young toddler and has always been calm, patient, and loving. She is the kind of dog who will quietly lie down and enjoy being petted and loved on. Whiskey would do best with a family who can give her the time, affection, and companionship she deserves. She is a loving, well-mannered girl who will make an incredible companion for a very lucky family. We adopt to residents of Northern VA and Washington DC suburbs only. Applicants must be at least 25 years old. Please understand this may take a few days. Thank you! Prior to rescue, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization and it takes time for them to learn about life as a family pet. Common skills such as house training and leash walking may often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must.
