Meet Dexter, a handsome gray and white Standard Poodle around 3-years-old, weighing 67 pounds (as of 5/17/26). This stately gentleman was part of an owner surrender in Tennessee and he's ready to see what New England is all about! With a calm, gentle personality that makes him easy to love, Dexter's sweet nature will have everyone clamoring to meet him. Whether he’s relaxing by your side or joining in for some playful fun, he enjoys spending time with people. He has a wonderful balance of being laid-back and playful, making him a great companion for many types of homes. Speaking of homes, he hopes you'll have space in yours to build a science laboratory for all of his experiments. Did we forget to mention Dexter is a dog genius? But don't worry, he'll never experiment on you! Dexter gets along beautifully with children, other dogs, cats, and even horses! What a guy! He's so adaptable and friendly! Dexter's also a pro at leashes and appears to be house-trained. He hasn't had experience with crates though. His easygoing temperament and kind heart make him a joy to be around. If you’re looking for a loyal, well-mannered companion with both charm and a gentle spirit, Dexter is the perfect match! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Dexter, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
