*If you are interested in adopting Blaire, please fill out an application at: www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application Blaire is a sweet, laid back 2 month old lab / shepherd mix pup that weighs 7 lbs. She is estimated to be around 45 lbs when she is fully grown. Blaire is an affectionate, loving, and super sweet girl. She is naturally curious and wants to be included in everything her humans are doing. She will be your loyal little shadow and follow you around from room to room just to watch what you're doing. When she goes outside, she just sits back to take it all in before starting to explore everything around her. She would be the perfect companion for a family that enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and nature walks. She's the type of pup that will always be happy to join her humans on whatever outdoor adventure they want to partake in. Her laid back nature also makes her the perfect snuggle buddy on rainy days while you watch movies on the couch. She's great with keeping herself busy with her toys and chew bones when she can't find a playmate, and she's the perfect work from home companion because she will happily hang out with you while you work and keep herself busy. She is the kind of pup that can be active, playful and curious when it’s time to have some fun, but also laid back and mellow when it’s time to relax and lounge around on the couch. Whether it’s going on walks, exploring new places, or enjoying lazy days at home, she’ll be your most loyal sidekick every step of the way. With her goofy charm, affectionate personality, and heart full of love, Brenna is sure to fill your home with laughter and endless cuddles. Blaire is medium energy. She is more on the laid back side so she has short spurts of puppy energy that can be easily burned then she's ready for a long nap after each play session. As she gets older, her energy level will likely increase. She loves running around in the backyard and having playtime with her siblings a few times a day. She's also great about playing independently with her toys and will keep herself entertained when she can't find a playmate. As she gets older, she will need longer walks or play time in the backyard multiple times a day. She loves toys, puzzle games, and anything that keeps her engaged with her people. She's the type of pup that just wants to do whatever her humans are doing so if you want to go on longer hikes and explore nature, she will be happy to join too. She also enjoys activities that give her a bit of mental stimulation, so puzzle games and treat dispensing toys that she can work on to win the main prize, some yummy dog treats, are a necessity in her forever home. Her ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and she’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month, especially now that she is about to start teething. Blaire's ideal family is one who enjoys a balance of activity and relaxation. As she grows, she would love going on hikes, walks, outdoor adventures, and fun outings, but she’ll be just as excited to come home afterward and spend the evening cuddled up on the couch beside her favorite humans. Blaire is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She is currently in a foster home with other dogs and her own siblings, and she loves other dogs. She loves other furry friends and would love to have another playful dog in her forever home. If there is another dog in the home, she would do best in a home with another dog that is social and playful as she is a puppy, and an older dog who isn't used to puppy energy and silly antics may not appreciate having a spunky little fur-sister around. She would also thrive as the center of attention in a home where she gets plenty of love and interaction. She would be perfectly fine being the only dog in the home because she is so people-oriented, but she would benefit from having frequent play dates with other dogs as she grows up so she continues learning proper doggy communication skills and play etiquette. Blaire would do well with kids of all ages and would love to have kids in the home that she can play and cuddle with. She may trip a young child or toddler who is learning how to walk because of her small size and tendency to walk so close to your feet, so making sure she has a safe space to hang out in while a young toddler is learning to walk is recommended. She is very cuddly, sweet, and loves to be included in everything her humans are doing, so if there are older kids in the home to play with and give her affection, she's going to be a happy girl. Because of her young age and how easily adaptable she is, she would be able to join a family that has a cat in the home. Since she is a puppy, she would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as she is a puppy and may want to play with them. She is going to start teething soon, so her humans will need to keep a watchful eye on her to make sure she doesn't chew on human kid toys laying around. Blaire is currently working on kennel training, potty training and leash training. She sleeps in a playpen at night with no fuss and will be transitioning to a kennel now that she's able to go longer at night between potty breaks. When she gets older, she would really love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible though. She loves to go on outings in her doggy stroller and also likes to be carried in a doggy pouch though, so while she is still little, she can be taken on fun outings until she masters leash training. She will need additional practice to perfect her leash walking skills in her forever home. She is doing well with potty pad training and will use a potty pad if she needs to go. She has started transitioning to going potty outside, but does not know how to alert her foster mom yet. It is recommended to use a doggy door bell by the back door to help her learn how to notify you when she needs to go outside. She does need a consistent schedule and be taken out every few hours, so she will need someone who either works from home or that can come home on lunch breaks to let her out consistently. Blaire's ideal home would be one where she can be included in her family’s daily life and get plenty of love, exercise, and attention. She would love to live in a home with a fenced yard to run and play in, but she’d also be perfectly content in an apartment, condo, or townhouse as long as she gets regular walks and playtime. She would thrive in a home with another friendly dog and some kids to cuddle and play with. She's also the type of dog that can be completely happy being the "only child" and getting all her humans' love and affection to herself too. No public dog parks for this sweet girl because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. She would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots for playtime and exercise when she gets older if she does live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse without a private fenced-in yard. She would love if her human works from home or works a hybrid schedule, and even would love to go to work with you if you go to a dog-friendly office. If you work out of the home and she is the only dog, she would benefit from going to doggy day care a few days a week so she can continue socializing with other dogs as she gets older. Blaire is ready to join her new family on whatever life adventure you take her on. Blaire is in a foster home in Central Texas. She can be adopted and transported to the following cities/states: www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/transport-locations TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance. Applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so when you submit an application it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL bio describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. The cost to adopt is $850-$875, which includes $400 adoption fee, a $250-$275 transport fee, and a $200 REFUNDABLE spay deposit. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus any necessary vet care while in the rescue's care. The $200 refundable spay deposit will be paid directly to the adopter's vet before the spay appointment once she is old enough to undergo the procedure. The transport fee covers the transportation from Blaire's foster to her forever home, and is $275 for PNW or $250 for other states.
