*If you are interested in adopting Bryce, please fill out an application at: www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application Bryce is a social, confident 8 week old lab / terrier mix that weighs 7 lbs. He is estimated to be around 45 lbs once he is full grown. Bryce is best described as the leader of the pack. He is confident, curious, and social. He has a calm, easygoing nature and adapts well to whatever his humans are doing. He adores people and other dogs, and he never passes up the chance to make new friends. When he meets a new dog friend, he immediately wants to initiate play time with a fun game of chase. He's very affectionate and loves to share his puppy kisses with both people and dogs every chance he gets. When he meets someone knew, he will crawl in their lap to soak up all the attention, belly rubs, and cuddles he can get. He’s the kind of pup who can keep you laughing with his silly antics one moment, then melt into your lap for snuggles the next. His go-with-the-flow personality makes easy for him to acclimate in new environments, and he is the perfect pup to join a family that enjoys both going on outdoor adventures to explore nature trails and relaxing at home snuggled up on the couch for movie night. He would be a great work from home companion because he knows how to keep himself entertained with his toys and chew bones, and will happily hang out on his dog bed in your office while you work. Bryce would thrive with a family that enjoys a balance of outdoor fun and relaxing at home. He would love joining his family on nature walks, hikes, patio outings, or weekend adventures just as much as he’d enjoy curling up on the couch for movie night afterward. Bryce is medium energy, so he's a perfect mix of active and laid back. He has short spurts of puppy energy that are quickly burned with playtime in the backyard. His energy level will increase as he gets older, but he is overall pretty mellow once he's had his short exercise sessions. Currently he has short bursts of puppy energy followed by long naps. He loves playing with toys, romping around with his doggy friends, and cuddling on the couch with his foster family. He loves to play with mental stimulation toys, like treat dispensing toys, puzzle games, and snuffle mats. As he gets older and masters leash training, he would love to go on fun outdoor hikes or leisurely walks around the park. He would love to go to doggy day care a couple of days during the week or have doggy play dates if there are no other dogs in his forever home because he loves having fun with his furry friends. While he enjoys playing with his doggy friends, he’s also perfectly content to entertain himself with his favorite toys when he can't find anyone to play with. He will need more practice and exposure to going to dog-friendly stores and outings in busy public places as he grows up to ensure he continues important socialization skills. He's the type of pup that would thrive in a family that enjoys the outdoors, but also enjoys some lazy days cuddling on the couch too. His ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and he’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month, especially now that he is about to start teething. Bryce is dog, cat, and kid friendly. He is currently in a foster home with other dogs and his own siblings. When it comes to making doggy friends, Bryce has never met a stranger. He absolutely loves canine companionship and is always ready to play, wrestle, and make new friends. His social, friendly demeanor would make him a wonderful addition to a home with another playful dog, though he would also thrive as the center of attention in a home where he gets plenty of love and interaction. If he is the only dog in the home, he would benefit from having frequent play dates with doggy friends or go to doggy day care a couple times a week so he continues having positive interactions with other dogs as he grows up. Bryce do well with kids of all ages and would love to have kids in the home that he can play fetch and cuddle with. He may trip a young child or toddler who is learning how to walk because of his small size and tendency to walk so close to your feet, so making sure he has a safe space to hang out in while a young toddler is learning to walk is recommended. He is very playful, sweet, and loves to be cuddled and loved on, so if there are older kids in the home to play with and give him affection, he's going to be a happy boy. Because of his young age and how easily adaptable he is, he would be able to join a family that has a cat in the home. Since he is a silly, playful puppy, he would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as he is a puppy and will want to play with them. He is going to start teething soon, so his humans will need to keep a watchful eye on him to make sure he doesn't chew on human kid toys laying around. Bryce is currently working on kennel training, potty training and leash training. He sleeps in a playpen at night with no fuss and will be transitioning to a kennel now that he's able to go longer at night between potty breaks. When he gets older, he would really love to snuggle up in bed with his humans every night so he can get in as many cuddles as possible though. He would love to go on outings in a doggy stroller or be carried in a doggy pouch so he can still be taken out and about with his humans until he masters leash training. He will need additional practice to perfect his leash walking skills in his forever home. He is doing well with potty pad training and will find a potty pad if he needs to go. He has started transitioning to going potty outside, but does not know how to alert his foster mom yet. It is recommended to use a doggy door bell by the back door to help him learn how to notify you when he needs to go outside. He does need a consistent schedule and be taken out every few hours, so he will need someone who either works from home or that can come home on lunch breaks to let him out consistently. Bryce's ideal home would be one where he can be included in his family’s daily life and get plenty of love, exercise, and attention. He would love to live in a home with a fenced yard to run and play in, but he’d also be perfectly content in an apartment, condo, or townhouse as long as he gets regular walks and playtime. He would thrive in a home with another playful, friendly dog and some kids to cuddle and play with. He's also the type of dog that can be completely happy being the "only child" and getting all his humans' love and affection to himself too. No public dog parks for this sweet boy because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. He would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots for playtime and exercise when he gets older if he does live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse without a private fenced-in yard. He would love if his human works from home or works a hybrid schedule, and even would love to go to work with you if you go to a dog-friendly office. If you work out of the home and he is the only dog, he would love to go to doggy day care a few days a week so he can burn energy and play with some doggy friends. Bryce's ideal family would be fun, adventurous, and loving, that enjoys a balance of outdoor adventures and cozy cuddle time. Bryce is in a foster home in Central Texas. He can be adopted and transported to the following cities/states: www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/transport-locations TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance. Applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so when you submit an application it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL bio describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. The cost to adopt is $850, which includes $400 adoption fee, a $250 transport fee, and a $200 REFUNDABLE spay deposit. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus any necessary vet care while in the rescue's care.
