Katie Bug is a 5‐year‐old Schnauzer mix weighing about 16.5 pounds. She's a gentle, timid girl who can become overwhelmed in stressful situations, but with patience and calm handling, she warms up and shows her very sweet nature -- even with our veterinary team. She has done well around other dogs, though she prefers companions who are on the calmer side. Originally, she was found as a stray in pretty rough conditions. The finders did their best to get her cleaned up, but unfortunately were not able to keep her due to Katie Bug's barking habits when people came to the door. They also had younger family members visiting frequently, and Katie Bug did not seem comfortable with that level of activity. For this reason, we believe she would do best with an experienced adopter in a quieter home without young children. She has been examined by our veterinary team and was cleared as healthy. Her adoption fee is $450. Because we don't observe our animals in home settings, we aren't able to guarantee whether she is housebroken. Upon intake, every animal receives: Spay/neuter surgery Microchip All age‐appropriate vaccinations Blood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed) Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A complimentary wellness exam 7-10 days after adoption Please note adopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility.
