About Marlo

Marlo's journey started by being abandoned in a box on a TN college campus with her siblings--but you'd never know it by her bright spirit and confident little personality. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her sweet disposition and her delicious forehead wrinkles. This precious girl has now been in a local foster home for almost two weeks. She arrived there with her sister. They were together in their foster home for the first week and now that her sibling has been adopted, it's Marlo's turn to find her forever home. Marlo is very attached to her people. She likes to stay close by you and loves to snuggle. Her foster family has two young children who adore Marlo. Each day she has one or two rounds of crazy puppy energy, but she is otherwise exceptionally calm and content to hang out in her dog bed with her favorite teddy bear--or better yet, on the sofa with her humans. Marlo is excellent on her leash. She got the hang of it immediately and enjoys taking walks with her foster family. She learned to sit in about a minute. Many of the strangers who stop her on the street to say how beautiful she is. We think she may be part Beagle, part Lab. Whatever she is, it's beyond CUTE!! She does great in the car and settles easily for long drives. She recently visited the beach for the first time and LOVED it. She is still working on potty training. She is teething and sometimes nips when she gets excited, but redirects well with a bully stick. She adores canine companions. She regularly has play dates with the spaniel next door and the poodle down the block. Marlo is sometimes shy and submissive. She would thrive in a home with another dog to show her the ropes. Like all puppies, she'll need guidance, structure, and patience as she grows--but she's already showing many signs of being a smart, adaptable girl. If you appreciate a dog with both a loving heart and a bit of an independent streak, Marlo may be your ideal companion. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?
