Chewy, a Shih Tzu mix, turns four in October and has grown up cherished by his 88-year-old owner, who’s now moving. He’s lived calmly in an adult home for years but began his life with young kids. Chewy is housebroken and neutered, and he roams the house with confidence when left alone. At night, he settles in his kennel with the door always open, choosing comfort on his terms. This dog thrives on companionship—he prefers to be close but doesn’t like being hugged. Friendly and social, Chewy barks excitedly at the doorbell and loves greeting his owner every morning. He can sit, shake, lie down, come, and will even dance in circles for a treat. His beloved stuffed animal “Bear” is always nearby for play, especially when the zoomies strike. Chewy enjoys supervised free time in a yard, winning over both his people and the neighbors. He’ll need a home that understands his personality and preferably a fenced yard to explore safely.
