About Tucker Bailey

Meet Tucker Bailey, a charming 6-year-old miniature poodle weighing in at a petite 13 pounds. Tucker's journey to Camo Rescue began when a kind-hearted good Samaritan found him wandering as a stray. Unfortunately, his owner no longer wanted him, but Tucker's luck turned around when he arrived at Camo Rescue. He was matted all over, including his feet, but after a quick groom, he felt like a brand-new pup! Tucker was adopted but they had a baby and now he finds himself looking for a home again. His adopter says-Tucker came into our lives full of energy and love. He is now crate trained, knows how to go outdoors, and has become very efficient in his bathroom habits. Initially, he wanted to sniff every tree in sight and would take over a half hour to go, but now he can't wait to get back indoors. He knows not to charge into the house and waits for his feet to be wiped or washed before proceeding. When it comes to feeding, Tucker is particular. We've discovered that he prefers his kibble with water then microwaved for 20 seconds. If not, he will wait for a topper of wet dog food or table scraps and then happily polish off his bowl. Tucker is quite the talker and will engage in conversations with you, growling and barking back with a wagging tail. He knows the commands "sit" and "lay down," although he tends to go straight to laying down. He loves to be around his family people (myself and my relatives). He will huddle at your feet and is always happy to see you, sometimes having little accidents from excitement. He is an amazing guard dog and always alert. Tucker has never shown any aggression towards my child and is very loving and protective of ours and others small humans. I will note, he has nipped 2 people in our time together. Once at a restaurant for an overreaching waitress, and they other time a new nanny. I spent some time with him to adjust that behavior, and he hasn't had an incident in over 6 months. The consistent factor was people getting too close to the baby. Tucker has an endearing cat-like trait of rubbing against your legs and the couch. At night, he sleeps in his crate and knows it's bedtime after being let out and expects a treat before settling Tucker is a major foodie, always willing to perform tricks and follow commands for a tasty treat. He gets along well with other dogs, but he can be a bit fearful if they're too active. Tucker prefers a more relaxed atmosphere where he can explore the yard at his own pace or hang out with his human companions. He's doing exceptionally well with both his potty training and leash walking, making him a delightful and manageable addition to any home. Tucker would thrive best in an adult-only household or one with children who understand his need for boundaries and a slow introduction. If you're looking for a sweet, treat-loving companion, Tucker Bailey might just be the perfect fit for you!
