About Apple

Apple is a six-year-old staffy mix with a big, affectionate heart and a knack for making you laugh. She came into care after being found alone in Kensington, then wound up at the open intake shelter in Philadelphia. A rough start, but through it all, she’s kept her signature charm: if you love kisses, Apple absolutely delivers—her signature move is the wet, happy smooch. Her skin lesions, thankfully, were benign and seem to have come from spending too long in a small crate. Apple is spayed, vaccinated, chipped, house trained (occasional accidents, but she’s trying), crate trained, and walks well on a leash. She shares her foster home with another female dog and gets along with her, but isn’t a fan of the resident male dog—sometimes personalities just don’t mesh. Bath time is a comedy routine; rain is not her thing. She recently strutted her stuff in a fashion show, charming everyone there. At about 50 pounds, Apple fits well in most homes and would do best with kids over six. She deserves a loving family who will give her the stable, happy life she’s waited for. Ready to fall in love? Questions about Apple

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Apple, being a pit bull terrier mix, typically does well in homes where she can be part of the family and included in daily activities. She will thrive with space to lounge and play, but adapts well to both houses and apartments with regular walks.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Pit bull mixes like Apple appreciate a fenced yard for playtime, but a few daily walks and play sessions fulfill their exercise needs. A committed daily routine is more important than a large yard.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Pit bull terriers are generally known for being gentle and affectionate with kids when properly socialized. Apple is recommended for homes with children over the age of six.
