Meet handsome little Archie! This adorable 1 year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix weighs about 8–10 pounds and is the definition of a loyal companion once he knows he can trust you. Archie can be shy at first and needs a little time to feel safe in new situations and around new people. Like many small dogs, the world can feel a bit overwhelming sometimes, so he’s looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will let him warm up at his own pace. But once Archie bonds with you, he bonds deeply — and his sweet, affectionate personality truly shines. He absolutely loves being held, babied, and carried around, and he will happily become your tiny shadow and devoted best friend. Because Archie is sensitive and easily startled, we are looking for a home without young children. He would do best in a calm environment with people who understand that trust takes time. One thing that really helps Archie feel confident is having another dog around. He LOVES other dogs and absolutely needs a canine companion in his forever home to help him continue coming out of his shell. He also does well with cats! A fenced yard would be ideal for Archie since he is not yet leash-trained, though we know with patience and love he will continue to blossom. He is truly such a good boy with so much love to give.
