Hot Rod is a 23-year-old pretty brown tabby with black racing stripes and a name that still carries a hint of speed, even though her days of zooming through life are mostly behind her now. She recently arrived at HART alongside her longtime companions Gracie Gray, Bear, and Luis after suddenly losing the only home and person she had ever known in her 23 years. A lifetime of comfort and familiarity disappeared in an instant, and she is still gently adjusting to a world that feels unfamiliar and changed. Hot Rod is calm, observant, and soft-hearted, moving through this transition at her own steady pace as she slowly begins to feel safe again. Her speedy days are memories now, but we like to think she still visits them in her dreams--where she is the star of her own race, speeding through the house on her own track.
