Meet Mary Read — a sweet young girl with a gentle heart who is learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Mary Read was found roaming alongside her brother and sister, and while we may never know how they ended up on their own, we are incredibly thankful they are now safe in our care. At approximately one year old, she still has so much life and love ahead of her. Mary Read is currently being treated for light heartworm positivity, and we are confident her treatment plan will rectify the issue. Despite everything she has been through, she remains incredibly sweet and soft-natured. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but it is easy to see that she truly wants love, comfort, and security. One of Mary Read’s favorite things in the world is her blankets — they seem to bring her comfort and help her feel safe. We believe she may be a Lab/St. Bernard mix, giving her both a lovable personality and a beautiful presence. Mary Read is looking for a patient and caring family who will help her continue building confidence and show her what a forever home truly feels like.
