About Cookie
Meet Cookie. She’s a young, affectionate pup who thrives on attention from both people and other dogs. Cookie catches on quickly—she’s already mastered "sit" and "give paw"—and food is the fastest way to her heart. Training sessions are a breeze when treats are involved. Energy pours out of Cookie in bursts: she’ll wrestle with her foster siblings tirelessly, then flop down for a solid cuddle. She hasn’t met a person or dog she doesn’t consider a friend. At about a year and a half old and already a large girl, she’s still learning about her size—sometimes her enthusiasm gets the better of her with smaller kids or cats, so a home without those would probably be best. She’s house trained and crate trained, and while she’s still picking up the leash, she’s eager to listen and is easily motivated by treats. A fenced yard would let her run out her energy, and she’d love to have a dog friend or regular play dates. Cookie survived flooding in the Rio Grande Valley, spending three days fending for herself before rescue—she has the heart of a survivor and the temperament of a goofball. She’s ready for the next chapter. Cookie is currently in South TX and open for adoption in Texas and throughout the Northeast. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
