About Cowboy
Cowboy is about four years old and brings a quirky charm with his subtle merle coat, hinting at some Collie or Aussie lineage mixed in with that German Shepherd base. He’s outgoing and affectionate, comfortable greeting new people with a polite sit and even a handshake. His foster mom—who has fostered more than a few dogs—says he’s the best she’s had. Cowboy hangs out quietly in the office, mostly just watching the world through the window, though you’ll want to keep snacks out of his reach. Cowboy relaxes on his back with ease and settles anywhere he finds comfortable, whether it’s his bed or tucked in the doorway. He’s made canine friends at the rescue and could adapt to a home with or without another dog. Cowboy has shown himself to be well-mannered around cats too. He’s neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations, plus his flea and tick prevention is up to date. He has tested positive for Heartworm and will need to stay on restricted exercise while undergoing treatment, which will be fully covered by the rescue. Once that’s complete, he’s expected to bounce back just fine. Your new best friend is just one click away.
