He can be a little shy at first while getting to know new people and surroundings, but once he trusts you, his affectionate and loyal personality really begins to shine. He's the kind of dog who doesn't demand constant attention, but simply loves being near his people and included in daily life. Beau enjoys all the good things in life - walks, hikes, snow days, camping adventures, lounging on the porch watching the world go by, and of course... snacks. A previous foster parent reported say he's quite the foodie and always eager to "help" in the kitchen whenever possible. He's also been doing wonderfully with other friendly dogs and truly benefits from having calm, confident canine companions around him. We've found that Beau gains confidence from other dogs and would likely do best in a home with another kind and well-matched dog to help show him the ropes and continue building his comfort in the world. While Beau has made amazing progress, he's still very much a dog who will need patience, understanding, and time to fully settle in and adjust. A quieter home, experience with herding or working breeds, and a securely fenced yard or space to stretch his legs would all help set him up for success. He loves being outdoors but also enjoys the comfort of home and relaxing near his people.
