Meet Ruby – Your Loyal, Independent Companion 🐾 Ruby is a stunning 2-year-old Shetland Sheepdog mix (we believe) with a silky, beautiful coat and a calm, steady presence. After lovingly raising a litter of puppies (now 10 weeks old), she’s ready to find a forever home of her own. Ruby enjoys being around her people but isn’t a “Velcro” dog. She’s happiest relaxing nearby—whether that’s snoozing at your feet or settling comfortably in her crate with a favorite toy. This smart girl has strong natural instincts. She has a high prey drive and takes her “job” seriously—patrolling the yard (and even keeping an eye on the pool!) is one of her favorite pastimes. Because of this, a securely fenced backyard is a must. Her herding instincts also shine through in play, and she enjoys chasing stuffed toys and chewing on synthetic bones. Ruby is crate trained and knows basic commands like sit, down, and come. Like many intelligent working dogs, she can become very focused on her environment, so continued training and engagement will help her thrive. She is potty trained, though adopters should be attentive to her cues as she adjusts to a new home. Ruby will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed prior to adoption, in line with our standard protocol.
