About Spirit
They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Meet Miss Spirit! Your eyes aren't deceiving you—this lovely girl is not a Collie, but a beautiful Blue Merle Sheltie. Spirit came into rescue as an owner relinquishment alongside her friend Suede, who has already found his forever home. Spirit is a sweet, spunky little lady with plenty of personality. At 11 years young, she doesn't let her age slow her down; she still enjoys playtime with her foster siblings and has a fun, lively spirit. She's quick to pause for some good old-fashioned butt scratches from her favorite humans too. Spirit and Suede were surrendered through no fault of their own, after their mom passed away and their dad couldn't care for them due to medical issues. Despite these changes, Spirit has shown herself to be resilient and adaptable. She currently lives in a foster home with four other Shelties ranging from 1 to 14 years old. While she took a few days to settle in, she's since blossomed—getting along well with everyone and enjoying her new routine. Spirit loves spending time outdoors. She happily patrols the yard, “supervising” the younger Shelties or running the fence line to chat with the neighbor dogs. She prefers dogs her own size or smaller. Because of some vision loss, larger dogs can make her a bit uneasy. With her limited eyesight, Spirit feels most comfortable when she can approach people and other dogs on her terms. Being approached too quickly may startle her, and while she isn't aggressive, she may let out a little squeal in surprise—just her way of asking for a moment to adjust. Aside from her vision changes, Spirit is healthy and doing well. Now Spirit is ready to find a loving, understanding home where she can shine at her own pace and enjoy her golden years. A fenced yard is required, and you'll have the joy of a dog whose friendly spirit is matched by her resilience. Fun fact: Spirit is a Libra, which means she brings balance, affection, and gentle charm to any home. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
