About Dillon

Looking for a shadow that's bright as GOLD!? One that will follow you to the ends of the Earth and back? One that may lack a little personal space but that's simply so you don't forget he needs belly rubs and snacks. One that is so handsome everyone wants a shadow just like him...except your vacuum. Meet Dillon! Dilly Dog, Dill Pickle, Dilly Bar...he goes by many names and he could care less which name you use as long as you're talking to him! Believe it or not, Dillon was found as a stray and never claimed. He ended up at animal control and waited and waited but not a single inquiry from his previous owners. Sometimes rescue just baffles us. Luckily, we were able to bust him out of jail and welcome him into a life that a Golden truly deserves! Dillion was found covered in ticks and fleas and unfortunately is Lyme's positive. He is asymptomatic and has already started treatment. We will STRONGLY recommend to his adopter that they retest for heartworms in 6 months given how and where Dillon was found. Outside of that, Dillon is a healthy, loves to play fetch, perfectly sized Golden Retriever! At around 2 years old and an ideal 51lbs, Dillon is all the great things a Golden should be. He's affectionate and endlessly adoring of his humans! He's a gentle soul and active when it's time and low key when it's not. Give him a ball to chase or toy to carry around and this dude is ready! Cats and other dogs are no problem and he could really take 'em or leave 'em. His number one concern in life is where his 2 legged besties are at. Dillon thrives when he's with his people, even if that means sleeping at their feet while they work at the computer or lounging in the sun while they're pulling weeds. He's always an earshot away. We aren't sure what Dillon's past was like and he has been a bit slow to come out of his shell but we see more and more of those endless Golden tail wags every day! Dillon knows basic commands like sit, lie down and shake. He also does not get on the furniture. He's only had a couple accidents of marking in his foster home the first few days after he arrived but consistency in routine has stopped that and neutering will help, as well. He currently sleeps on his favorite dog bed next to his foster at night. The crate has been a learning process. Dillon seems to have familiarity with being crated but struggled initially with having his foster mom out of his sight when in his crate, which led to some barking. He's improved SO MUCH since first arriving and is learning to settle and understand that his human is coming back for him. He's truly a very well behaved, young dog and will make an incredible family dog who's up for any adventure! He does very well in the car...and what Golden turns down a pup cup!? Not Dillon! We can't wait to watch this guy melt in the arms of his new family! Dillon's adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, heartworm/tick borne illness testing, Lyme's treatment, vaccines, dewormings and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. It includes a lifetime guarantee of vacuuming daily in return of endless love and Golden cuddles! Reach out to us or put in an adoption application for this seriously handsome and perfect boy! **Dillon will be neutered on 5/17 but is ready for meet and greets!**
