About Tanner

Meet Tanner, a handsome and energetic young male German Shepherd who recently joined the safety of the rescue after being a Memphis street dog. He's about 1-2 years old and currently fostered in Greeneville, TN, but he's available for transport. Tanner thrives on adventure and would love a place that engages his active nature—think long walks and hikes. He’s got a playful side along with a strong desire to learn, so a firm pack leader will help him reach his full potential with obedience training. Tanner does well with large female dogs, but he’s not suitable for homes with cats or small dogs. Older kids, around 12 and up, would be a perfect fit for him. Growing up rough, he’s friendly and ready to bond, but he does not get along with cats, so he’ll need a cat-free environment. His striking yellow-tan and black coat, coupled with his unique ears, make him quite the looker. If you're seeking a loyal and athletic companion, Tanner just might be the perfect fit for you.
