About Maverick

Maverick is a striking 2-3 year old male German Shepherd, currently fostering in Greeneville, TN. This handsome boy arrived in rough shape, but with the loving care from IDGSR, he’s now healthy and thriving. He’s a large dog with a long, beautiful coat. Aside from needing a little help with his weight, Maverick has a big heart and plenty of energy. He’s house and crate trained, and gets along well with large female dogs, though he prefers to be the only male in the household. Unfortunately, he does not get along with cats. Maverick is playful, curious, and very smart, which means he’s eager for training. A strong, experienced pack leader is ideal for him to help direct his enthusiasm and energy. He responds well to positive reinforcement, especially when treats like hot dogs or cheese are involved.
