Ophelia is a quiet, tender-hearted girl who came to the shelter as a stray with scarring across her muzzle, injuries that may have come from her mouth being taped shut. Despite what she’s endured, she has shown nothing but sweetness, patience, and a deep desire to trust again. In her kennel, Ophelia is calm, well-mannered, and keeps her space tidy and clean, greeting staff with soft eyes and a gentle tail wag. She takes treats with the lightest touch and has quickly become a favorite among those who appreciate her quiet, soulful presence. Ophelia has been working hard to build her confidence, especially during walks with her new dog friend Azul, a gentle male who helps her feel more secure. With his support, she’s learning that the world can be a safe and comforting place. She has gained some much-needed weight, enjoys her tasty snacks, and is slowly blossoming into a more relaxed and hopeful version of herself. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet, but she’s showing us every day that she’s ready to keep learning, growing, and trusting. This beautiful girl tested positive for heartworms and has already begun treatment. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
