Found wandering as a stray with no microchip and no one searching for him, this handsome German Shepherd was left to fend for himself - dodging cars, braving bad weather, and wondering where his next meal would come from. Those days are finally behind him. Now Byron is safe, vaccinated, microchipped, and receiving treatment for heartworm disease. With steady meals, a warm place to rest, and people looking out for him, he's beginning to relax and learn what stability feels like again. And underneath it all? Byron is simply a really nice dog. He has wonderful manners and appears to have been well trained at some point in his life. Byron is calm, respectful, and easy to be around. He's the kind of dog who would happily shadow his person from room to room just to be nearby. Byron enjoys human companionship and would love a home where he can finally feel like part of the family. He does well with other dogs after slow, respectful introductions and seems to appreciate calm, steady interactions. He hasn't been tested with cats yet. The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
