Meet Maple Maple is an 8.5-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix weighing about 50 pounds. She's spayed, heartworm negative, house trained, crate trained, and knows her basic commands-a mature, well-established dog looking for the right next chapter. Maple is being rehomed due to challenges adjusting to life with a newborn in the home. She became overly protective of the baby and did correct another household dog who approached too closely. The other dog was not injured and did not require veterinary care, but her family recognizes that Maple would be happiest in a calmer environment better suited to her comfort level. In most situations, Maple is a friendly, loyal companion who does well with people and other dogs. She is protective of her home and family, true to her Shepherd side, and appreciates structure and clear boundaries. She is not a fit for homes with cats. Maple would thrive in an adult home or one with older children where she can relax and enjoy a predictable routine. She's at that wonderful age where she still enjoys companionship and activity but also appreciates peace, comfort, and stability. The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
