About Ernest

🌲 Meet Ernest! 🌲 Affectionately known as Ernest Leonard Toes, this 4-year-old sweet boy is an absolute sweetheart! All he wants is love, food, pets, and more love! He is extremely affectionate and is always giving adorable headbutts in hopes of getting chin scritches and endless attention. He's a gentle giant who just wants to be with his person. Ernest's other hobbies include playtime, especially with his wand toy, and recharging in the warm sunbeams while dreaming of catnip lollipops and other delicious treats. You're probably wondering about how he got the name Ernest Leonard Toes- he has so many toes! Ernest is looking for a loving home where he can get endless love and attention from his person.Being FIV+ doesn't slow him down one bit- it just means he's ready to spend all 10 lives happily indoors and loved. He gets along with other cat friends and will make a great addition anywhere he goes! Ernest is now accepting adoption applications, available below! Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a cat-specific virus that cannot be passed onto dogs or humans. FIV is spread through deep bite wounds, typically seen on outdoor male cats who have not been neutered. It's rarely spread through grooming, sharing bowls, or litter boxes. FIV affects a cat's immune system, but most cats live long lives when they live indoors, receive routine veterinary care, have a stress-free home, and a good diet. Apply here: https://tenlivescatrescue.org/adoptionapp/ Please Note: If the cat or kitten is no longer listed in the drop-down menu of the application then they are no longer available for adoption and we are not accepting applications. Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed. About Ten Lives: Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
