Aggie is a female Belgian Shepherd / Malinois and German Shepherd Dog mix with a tricolor (brown, black, and white) short coat. She is medium-sized and currently in Pflugerville, TX. Aggie is spayed, vaccinated, and house trained. Though she is living with three legs, she doesn't let it slow her down. She’s eager for mental stimulation and lots of play.

About Aggie

Aggie was found injured on the side of a highway overpass in Austin, TX, but despite everything she's been through, she's a wholehearted, affectionate dog who gives her love without reservation. Mornings with Aggie start with her eagerly asking for belly rubs and showing off her signature happy spins, especially when it's time for a walk or car ride. She thrives on companionship and will trail after you from room to room, always present, always game for whatever you're doing. Her enthusiasm for fetch is endless—balls are her obsession, and she's at her happiest in the middle of a rousing game. Aggie now gets by on three legs, losing one hasn't dented her spirit but does mean she does better with shorter walks and needs plenty of mental engagement to satisfy her. While she gets along well with a sturdy canine playmate (especially those who can keep up with her herding style), she could also be content soaking up all the love as a solo pet. Small but tenacious, Aggie needs a secure, fenced yard to safely burn off her energy. She’s crate trained, house trained, and has good leash skills—her recall is impressive for a herding breed. She’ll need an adopter willing to keep working patiently with her to build trust, as she’s wary of new people and prefers slow introductions. Aggie sometimes has nightmares and startles easily, but she loves chasing squirrels, pup cups, and hitting the road for adventures with her person. She is ready for a fresh start and will return every bit of dedication with unwavering loyalty. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Aggie

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Aggie is a Belgian Shepherd / Malinois and German Shepherd Dog mix, so she thrives best in an active home with strong structure and plenty of engagement. She benefits from a secure fenced yard where she can play safely and appreciates a calm, patient environment due to her initial wariness with strangers.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

With her high energy and working dog lineage, Aggie needs good outdoor space, ideally a fully fenced yard where she can exercise and explore. Even though she's now on three legs, she still needs room to run and play for short bursts.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Aggie does not get along with children and would not be suitable for a home with kids. Her breed mix can be protective and strong-willed, so an adult-only household is ideal.
