About Romeo
Meet Romeo, a striking Black Mouth Cur/shepherd-boxer mix with a red chestnut coat, looking for someone who appreciates loyalty and adventure. At about 6-1/2 years old and weighing around 74 lbs, Romeo thrives in the company of his person, especially if that includes walks, hikes, and daily outings. He’s sharp, affectionate, and bonds hard with his people—his loyalty is clear from day one. Romeo’s protective instincts make him a great watch dog, but it also means he’s much better suited for a quiet, non-congested home without small children or daily crowds. He gets along with other dogs in the right setting, but needs an experienced adopter who understands how to guide a dog with a prey drive. He doesn’t do well with cats or kids, but with adults he’s playful, eager for a belly rub, and loves a routine that includes exercise and structure. Grooming is a breeze thanks to his short coat, and in the right hands, Romeo really shines. Romeo is currently in Ventura, CA and ready to meet the right companion. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
