About Mac
Mac is a six-year-old Black Mouth Cur who’s been thriving in foster care since early 2025. He’s lived with cats and other dogs—he gets along well with the cats and generally does fine with dogs, though he’s not always a perfect fit for all canine personalities. Mac prefers human friendship and bonds deeply through play, especially tug-of-war. He’s a fan of car rides, walks, and makes an enthusiastic running partner. If you’re skilled at scratching backs, especially that prized spot near his tail, you’ll quickly become his favorite. While Mac can be leash reactive, his trainer is dedicated to helping him improve, and continued support is available for his adopter. He thrives on consistent routines and would do best in a calm, low-traffic home—ideally with a single person or a couple without kids. Mac would be happiest as the only dog in the home, though he can coexist with cats. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful companion who’ll give as much as he gets, Mac is ready to meet you.
