About Lucky The Beagle

Lucky is a small, striking two-year-old beagle who came from a research facility. He’s naturally calm, walks through life with a gentle caution, and prefers quiet moments on the couch above everything else. Since landing in foster, Lucky has learned the ropes—literally with his favorite rope toy and figuratively with new skills like navigating stairs and enjoying yard time under the sun. This dog has had to learn almost everything from scratch: beds, water bowls, even the basics like being petted are new. He’s curious about other dogs and clearly more comfortable when he’s around his own kind, but human contact and home life are still pretty foreign. Lucky isn’t house trained yet and needs a gentle hand, ongoing encouragement, consistency, and patience. A family used to working through fear and unfamiliar experiences is required. Adopters must be ready for a real project—everything from loud noises to simple affection can take time. Experience with beagles helps, especially since Lucky craves another dog for companionship and learns by example. He’s vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered soon.
