About Chopper
Chopper is a two-year-old Beagle/Cocker Spaniel mix (about 25 pounds) looking for a home where he can finally be someone’s cherished companion. He has the classic floppy ears, soulful eyes, and the kind of sweet personality that makes you want to scoop him right up. Chopper’s favorite activity is being close to his people—a true lap dog at heart who’ll nudge for extra pets and curl up for a long cuddle without hesitation. He’s playful and curious, exploring the world nose-first in true Beagle style, but his default mode at home is calm and quietly attentive. Chopper does well with kids and has experience being around other dogs if introductions are handled with a bit of care—though he’d be just as happy to be the star of the show and soak up all your attention. After early life spent mostly outside, he’s eager for a routine with cozy beds, steady affection, and a chance to finally settle in. Chopper isn’t yet fully house trained, so some patience and support will go a long way as he learns the ropes indoors. He’s crate trained, neutered, and has his vaccinations up to date. Chopper does not get along with cats. If you’re in the Gainesville, VA area and want an affectionate, gentle, and loyal companion, Chopper may just be your perfect fit.
