Walker is a 6-year-old terrier mix with a gentle, sensitive personality. He enjoys spending time with other dogs and continues to build confidence through positive social interactions, where he is learning appropriate social cues. Walker may be a bit shy at first and will do best in a home with another confident dog to help guide him and provide reassurance as he adjusts. He is still learning to trust people and will need a committed adopter who is willing to go slow, build a strong bond, and help him feel safe through consistent, positive experiences. Walker can be a little sensitive with handling right now as he learns that people can be safe and predictable. He is making great progress, and our behavior team would love to talk more about the support and guidance that will help him continue to thrive. He will do best with a calm, patient adopter-ideally someone experienced with shy or undersocialized dogs-who understands the importance of respecting his boundaries and moving at his pace. Walker will need a securely fenced-in yard where he can safely explore and continue building confidence. He will also need to go home with a secure, properly fitted harness to support safe leash handling as he learns. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure it is a good fit for both Walker and his future family.
