Latte is a 5-year-old terrier mix weighing 9 lbs, with a sensitive but playful personality. He's a fireball of energy and loves spending time with other dogs-his favorite thing is playing in a group, where he continues to learn appropriate social cues and build confidence. He's most often found playing games of chase with his dog friends. He's very social, food motivated, and still learning how to feel comfortable with handling. Latte requires a home with another confident dog to help guide him and provide reassurance as he adjusts. He is still learning to trust people and will need a home committed to socializing him, building a strong bond, and helping him feel safe over time. Latte can be a little sensitive with handling right now as he learns that people can be safe and predictable. He is making great progress, and our behavior team would love to talk more about the support and guidance that will help him continue to thrive. He will do best with a calm, patient adopter-ideally someone with experience-who understands the importance of going at his pace and respecting his boundaries. Latte will need a securely fenced-in yard where he can safely explore and grow his confidence. He will also need to go home with a secure, properly fitted harness to keep him safe as he continues working on leash skills. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure it is a good fit for both Latte and his future family. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
