Meet Dallas Dallas is a 6-year-old Cane Corso Mastiff who was surrendered when his owner no longer had time for him. This big boy is truly a gentle giant with a soft heart and a deep love for his people. According to his previous owner, Dallas is shy at first but very friendly and sweet once he gets to know you. He has lived with small dogs but has not been around cats. He's incredibly affectionate and loves attention, often acting like a giant lap dog who just wants to be close. Dallas was recently adopted and returned after 3 days due to snapping at a child in the home. The adopter did state that the child was antagonizing Dallas and not respecting the space he needed, so future adopters should understand the importance of giving him appropriate boundaries and allowing him time to feel comfortable. Because of this, we recommend a home with older, respectful children or an adult-only household. Dallas is well behaved on leash and happily walks at your pace, making him an easy companion for daily strolls. He also knows how to sit and stay on command and takes treats very gently. He crates well, though he may whine when left alone, and his previous owner noted some attachment-related behaviors, so he would do best in a home that can provide companionship and help him feel secure when alone. Staff describe Dallas as unbelievably sweet, and it's easy to see why-he's a loving, loyal dog who forms strong bonds with his people.
