Meet Huckie the 'Loving Grouch' Huck is a 8 lb, 10 y/o Papillon mix who was found roaming the streets in very poor condition. He was matted and dirty with a very painful, infected mouth. Red Leash stepped in and got him cleaned up, vetted and on the calendar to get his neuter/dental and fix his cherry eye. Unfortunately, his date is not until July so we are hoping a kind soul could open their heart to him now and bring him to his vet appointment then as there are so many more who need out of the shelters. Surprisingly, Huck really loves his humans! He will follow you everywhere and likes to be picked up and carried or sit on your lap. He loves other dogs and enjoys walking every day with his new pack. He loves car rides and walking around the yard. Now for the grouch part- we think because his mouth hurts him, Huck can get snippy if his face is touched. Really this only happens when he gets tangled underfoot (he's always with you) and he thinks your shoe is trying to hurt him. The ideal home for this loving little grouch is an experienced dog owner who may or may not have other dogs and can be patient with his quirks (where are our spicy chi lovers??). Huck deserves so much better than the hand he was dealt. He is building more and more trust and getting more comfortable every day.
