Meet Ov! 🐾 Ov is an approximately 3-year-old spayed female weighing about 54 lbs. Rescued from the devastating Andong wildfire area in South Korea, Ov is, quite simply, an exceptionally gentle and easygoing soul. She is the kind of dog who makes daily life feel effortlessly joyful. Calm, deeply affectionate, and incredibly good-natured, she is equally thrilled to join you for a stroll or simply be your TV-watching companion. ✨ Quick Facts - Age: ~3 years - Sex: Spayed Female - Weight: ~54 lbs (Currently overweight; looking for a walking buddy to help her with a dedicated weight management plan!) - Energy Level: Low to moderate - Health: Overall excellent 🌿 Personality & Vibe - A Total Sweetheart: Extremely gentle, calm, and affectionate—truly "as sweet as they come." She will likely show you her belly for rubs the moment you meet her! - Low-Maintenance Indoors: Quiet in the house, rarely barks, and loves relaxing on the couch. - Polite & Independent: She is well-mannered, non-destructive, and incredibly easy to live with. She loves her people but is independent enough not to blindly shadow your every move. - Soft & Gentle: She is very responsive to her foster family, has shown zero play-mouthing or biting, and is a gentle presence in the home. (Note: As a new rescue, she must remain securely leashed on walks despite her great indoor recall). 👨‍👩‍👧 With People & Children - Loves Everyone: Friendly with all ages and genders, with absolutely zero stranger shyness. - Kid-Friendly: She naturally approaches people for affection and adores kids! She will even stop on walks just to watch children playing across the street. (Because of her size, she might seem a bit intimidating to very small children, but her heart is pure gold). 🐶🐱 With Other Pets - Social Butterfly: Very interested in other dogs and gets along best with similar or slightly smaller playmates. - Needs Structured Intros: Because of her size, if another dog reacts fearfully or aggressively toward her, she may mirror that excitement. Calm, structured introductions set her up for success! 🏠 Home & Crate Behavior - The Perfect Roommate: Extremely calm indoors with no barking or separation anxiety observed. - Workday Ready: She has experience being left alone for an 8-hour workday and simply rests quietly the entire time. - Crate Trained: She is comfortable free-roaming but will voluntarily enter her crate, using it as a safe, cozy resting space at night. 🚽 Potty Habits - Fully Potty Trained: Highly reliable outdoors if taken out on a consistent schedule. - Great Communicator: She clearly signals when she needs to go by whining and circling. 🚶 Exercise & Leash Manners - Outdoorsy (in moderation): Enjoys outdoor time and hiking. She currently loves a 30-minute morning walk and a 40-minute evening walk. - Building Stamina: She has lower stamina right now and may decide she's ready to head home after moderate activity. - Eager Beaver: She pulls strongly at the beginning of walks (though this is already improving!) but settles nicely after about 20 minutes. She can also get excited and pull when she spots other dogs. - Gear Note: A hands-free leash with a sturdy carabiner is strongly recommended to help manage her initial excitement. 🚗 Car Rides & Grooming - Travel Ready: Rides well in the car overall, though she may pant or drool mildly before settling down. - Easy to Handle: Tolerates baths and handling beautifully with zero aggression, even if the tub isn't her favorite place to be. 🩺 Dental Note: A Story of Resilience Ov recently underwent a necessary dental procedure involving multiple extractions. Her Korean vet suspects that someone previously, and intentionally, cut her teeth—exposing the internal tissue and causing her pain. Removing these damaged teeth was absolutely necessary to provide her relief. The fact that she remains so deeply trusting, loving, and gentle after experiencing human cruelty is a true testament to her beautiful, forgiving soul. Her molars remain fully intact, meaning she can comfortably eat regular kibble and enjoy soft toys without any issues. While her smile might look a little sparse up front, she is completely healed, pain-free, and her daily quality of life is completely unaffected! 🛟 What She Needs in a Forever Home - A loving family committed to daily walks and a gradual weight management routine. - An adopter comfortable handling a strong, 54-lb dog on a leash, especially at the start of walks. - Someone who can provide calm, structured guidance around other dogs. - Adopters fully prepared for a dog that sheds quite a bit! - Most importantly: a calm, loving environment where she can finally relax, feel safe, and be a cherished part of everyday life.
