Maki
AvailableMaki is an American Shorthair with a beautiful buff and white coat and classic short hair. She’s a young, spayed female with a friendly, curious nature, now living in Fredericksburg, VA. Maki is house trained, vaccinated, and enjoys both playtime and downtime. She adapts well to new environments and is comfortable indoors.
About Maki
Maki gets her name from the traditional sushi roll—her black and white "sticky rice" markings really stand out. Found in a DC bush, she quickly showed her rescuers how much she prefers the indoor life, greeting them with clear friendliness. Maki is about 7 months old and has taken to her new home routines without much fuss. She hits the litter box without fail, is happy batting around toy mice, and spends plenty of time birdwatching from the windowsill. While Maki enjoys her independence, she still gravitates toward a cozy lap in the evenings. Currently, she’s sharing space with a playful dog and handles it calmly, although she’d happily welcome another cat as a companion, a laidback pup, or even be the sole focus in a quiet home.
